The first they meet<br \/>\nWere watching shepherds; there by night they greet<br \/>\nWith those blest tidings, and to solemnize<br \/>\nThe birth-day of their King, they fill the skies<br \/>\nWith songs of praise, The Heavens, to bear a share<br \/>\nIn this solemnity, Dispatch a star<br \/>\nInto the East, to let the Wise-men know<br \/>\nThe prince of Peace is born, and to show<br \/>\nThe way unto that station<sup><a href=\"#footnote4\">4<\/a> <\/sup><a id=\"note4\"><\/a>, where they might<br \/>\nBehold that great and long-expected sight.<br \/>\nAnd now the World thus roused by Heaven, begins<br \/>\nTo take the alarm, and it quickly rings<br \/>\nWith the Messiah\u2019s birth: the Shepherds drew<br \/>\nTo Bethlem, find the Angels tidings true;<br \/>\nAnd <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #ee4000; text-decoration: none;\" title=\" Make publicly known. (OED)\" href=\" \">published<\/a> it: the Wise-men come and see<br \/>\nTheir guide\u2019s report and conduct true to be,<br \/>\nAnd the proclaim it: then come kings, and bring,<br \/>\nAnd pay tribute to their Infant-King.<br \/>\nThus the Almighty\u2019s Wisdom sends a train<br \/>\nOf wonders and <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #ee4000; text-decoration: none;\" title=\" Distinguish, point out; take notice of; utter as an observation. (OED)\" href=\" \">remarks <\/a>to entertain<br \/>\nAnd wait upon this greater wonder; Crowns<br \/>\nThe birth-day of his Son with what renown<br \/>\nThe world could contribute, and seems to fit<br \/>\nAll circumstances, that they render it<br \/>\nAs solemn, signal, memorable as<br \/>\nThe great importance of the buisness was:<br \/>\nWhich chides our proud and narrow Hearts, if we<br \/>\nShall starve the memory of that which he<br \/>\nStrove to make <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #ee4000; text-decoration: none;\" title=\" The physical embodiment of a message. For example, an alarm call is a vocal signal that conveys a message relating to danger.
